First Post!

Well, here we go...

It's a cold and gloomy day here in the great white middle-of-nowhere land. It was in the 70s two days ago and now we're wearing jackets with our shorts. Gotta keep wearing the shorts once you put them on in spring. If you go back to pants, then spring will NEVER show up! So we're shivering as we welcome springtime.

Tomorrow is Mother's Day, which will be weird this year, since my mother died a couple weeks ago. It will be interesting to see how I react. Not that I ever made a big deal of Mother's Day before. Usually, on Saturday, I would think, "I should call my mom tomorrow. And I wish I'd gotten her flowers or sent a card or something." Then, on Monday, I'd think, "Gee, I wish I would have called my mother yesterday since I never sent her flowers or a card." So this year, I'll probably think about missing her on Monday when I realize that I should have remembered her on Sunday, and then I'll realize that she's not there anymore.

Like I said, it'll be weird.

I have a contract to write a 31 day devotional that's due next year, but I'm hoping to start on it soon. And I'll continue to fiddle with my current WIP (that's Work-in-Progress, for you non-writer types--also known as "normal people") that currently has no name and no real plot, just a few snippets of what I hope are amusing anecdotes.

And I also want to get this blog filled with all the cool graphics, pictures, and links that I see on other blogs. But that will take a while since I have the Web design savvy of small dog. A very small dog. I own two small dogs and they can't do a thing on the Internet. Though they have done a few things on my computer desk, but that's more info than you want to know.
